Attapulgite Specialty Suspension Products
Blair Ag’s primary business is the distribution of specialized attapulgite suspension clay to the agriculture industry, sold as a thickening and suspending agent in various liquid animal feed and liquid fertilizer suspensions.
Attapulgite is a colloidal magnesium aluminum silicate. The mineral is only found in minable quantities in one area of the United States; in and around Attapulgus, GA. When dispersed in water, they display unique thickening and thixotropic (gelling) properties that are useful in a variety of aqueous applications.
Modest cost, high performance, and virtually universal compatibility mean they can often partially or fully replace sepiolites and gums as primary suspension additives, while offering equivalent performance.
HiLoad® Liquid Clay
HiLoad® is our dust free, pre-gelled attapulgite clay slurry, manufactured at our plant in Blair, NE.
When purchased in its pre-dispersed liquid form, it decreases your mixing time and production costs. HiLoad® outperforms alternative suspension aids because it holds your ingredients in a strong, gel-like suspension to prevent settling, but upon agitation, flows as an easily pumpable liquid.
Suitable for all formulations of liquid suspension animal feeds and fertilizers.

The facility is served by the Union Pacific Railroad 3 times per week and can offer transloading services:
